Siberian forests are home to some of the most resilient and durable coniferous tree species on Earth. The extreme climate, characterized by long, frigid winters and short, cool summers, forces these trees to grow slowly, resulting in dense, high-quality wood with superior mechanical properties. Among the most notable species are larch (Larix sibirica), Angara pine (Pinus sylvestris var. angarensis), and far east spruce (Picea obovata). Each of these trees exhibits unique characteristics that make them invaluable for construction, furniture making, and various industrial applications.
We recommend following standard carpentry practices: ensure proper joist spacing, use corrosion-resistant fasteners, and pre-drill when necessary. For exterior use, allow expansion gaps, especially in high-humidity or variable climates.
Applying a high-quality oil, stain, or sealant helps protect against UV, moisture, and fungi. Larch has naturally high rot resistance but still benefits from occasional maintenance. Pine and spruce also last longer with protective coatings.
We suggest outdoor wood oils or water-based sealers with UV protection for decking and cladding. For interior flooring, hardwax oils or polyurethane-based finishes work well. Always follow the product’s application guidelines.
